All She Wrote Anthology
2018 • Documentary
All She Wrote is a series of short documentaries celebrating women who have carved out space in the male-dominated world of graffiti. Directed by Idalina Leandro, the anthology follows eight artists — from Tokyo to Toronto, New Delhi to Lisbon — who use spray paint as a tool for identity, resistance, and community change. Each portrait lingers on small moments in everyday life: a Japanese nurse channelling the strength of motherhood into bold letterforms, an Indian educator teaching graffiti workshops to youth, a Chilean-Canadian pioneer shaped by the political murals of her childhood, and a Dutch legend who kept her identity hidden until her passing in 2020. Strong, spirited, and unapologetic, these women refuse to be silent — painting their voices onto public walls and leaving their mark on the world. (44 min; also available as individual short films.)
