2. Description of Activity

I understand that Action Lab 2026 is an on-camera action workshop that may include, but is not limited to:

  • Film and action movement
  • Martial arts-inspired movement
  • Fight choreography
  • Solo and group action sequences
  • Partner drills
  • Physical contact
  • Blocking for camera
  • Rehearsed falls, reactions, or simulated impacts
  • Movement requiring balance, coordination, strength, flexibility, and physical exertion

I understand this workshop is for educational and recreational purposes. Participation does not certify me as a stunt performer, martial artist, or professional fight performer.

3. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in this workshop involves risks, dangers, and hazards, including but not limited to:

  • Slips, trips, falls, or collisions
  • Sprains, strains, bruises, cuts, scrapes, or abrasions
  • Muscle, joint, back, neck, knee, ankle, wrist, or shoulder injuries
  • Head, face, dental, or eye injuries
  • Contact with other participants, instructors, equipment, walls, floors, mats, or other objects
  • Fatigue, dizziness, dehydration, shortness of breath, or overexertion
  • Aggravation of a pre-existing injury or medical condition
  • Serious injury, permanent disability, or death

I understand that these risks may arise from my own actions, the actions of other participants, the actions of instructors or staff, the condition of the premises, equipment, or other factors.

I freely accept and fully assume all risks associated with my participation.

4. Participant Responsibilities

I agree to:

  • Follow all instructions given by instructors, staff, and facility representatives.
  • Participate only within my own comfort, ability, and physical limits.
  • Stop immediately if I feel unsafe, injured, dizzy, unwell, or uncomfortable.
  • Inform an instructor of any injury, pain, medical issue, or limitation before or during the workshop.
  • Not attempt any movement, drill, or action unless instructed to do so.
  • Treat all instructors, staff, participants, and facility property with respect.
  • Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for physical activity.
  • Avoid reckless, unsafe, or disruptive behaviour.

I understand that the organizers may remove me from the workshop if they believe my participation creates a safety concern.

5. Medical Consent

I confirm that I am physically able to participate in this workshop, or that I have consulted a medical professional if I have any concern about my ability to participate.

If I am injured or become ill during the workshop, I authorize the organizers, instructors, staff, and facility representatives to obtain or provide first aid, emergency medical assistance, or transportation if they consider it necessary.

I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs or expenses that may result.

6. Release of Liability

In consideration of being allowed to participate in Action Lab 2026, I agree to release, waive, and discharge the following parties from any and all claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising from or connected to my participation:

  • Trickle & Flow
  • Family Karate
  • Instructors
  • Staff
  • Volunteers
  • Contractors
  • Sponsors
  • Partners
  • Owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, and affiliates of the above

This release applies to claims arising from injury, illness, death, property damage, or loss, including claims that may arise from negligence, breach of duty, or the condition of the premises, except where prohibited by law.

7. Indemnity

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the released parties from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses, including legal fees, arising from:

  • My participation in the workshop
  • My actions or omissions
  • My failure to follow instructions
  • My failure to disclose a medical condition, injury, or limitation
  • Any damage I cause to property or injury I cause to another person
8. Personal Property

I understand that I am responsible for my own personal belongings. The organizers and facility are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property.

9. Media Consent

I understand that photos and video may be taken during the workshop for promotional, educational, social media, behind-the-scenes, or archival purposes.

I grant permission to Country Girl Productions, CGP Spotlight, Country Girl Productions, Trickle & Flow, Family Karate, and their representatives to photograph, film, record, use, edit, publish, and share my image, likeness, voice, and appearance in connection with the workshop and related promotional materials.

I understand I will not receive payment or royalties for this use.

You may opt out of promotional photography and filming using the checkbox in the form above. If you opt out, you must also notify staff at check-in so reasonable efforts can be made to avoid capturing you.

10. No Guarantee

I understand that participation in this workshop does not guarantee employment, casting, stunt work, screen credit, agency representation, future opportunities, or involvement in Trickle & Flow or any related production.

11. Acknowledgement

I confirm that:

  • I have read and understood this waiver.
  • I had the opportunity to ask questions before signing.
  • I understand the nature of the activity and the risks involved.
  • I am signing voluntarily.
  • I understand that by signing this document, I am giving up certain legal rights, including the right to sue.

Real vs Reel

Learn the difference between real-world fighting and action designed for camera. You'll explore how movement, timing, reactions, and camera angles work together to make screen action feel exciting, safe, and believable.

Hong Kong Style Sequences

Break down fast, dynamic action inspired by Hong Kong cinema, with a focus on rhythm, precision, flow, and creative movement. Participants will learn how sequences are built beat by beat for maximum visual impact.

Solo & Group Work

Build confidence performing both individually and with scene partners. You'll work on timing, spacing, listening, trust, and adapting your movement within choreographed solo and group action sequences.

Action for Film Techniques

Learn practical on-camera action fundamentals, including blocking, selling reactions, controlled contact, movement for camera, safety awareness, and how to perform action in a way that supports story and character.

Tazito Garcia
Lead Instructor

Taz "Tazito" Garcia is an actor, director, bestselling author, action performer, and mentor who has been a driving force in indie filmmaking since 2009. He has worked alongside Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan, and John Cena, and most recently appeared opposite Alan Ritchson in Amazon Prime's hit series Reacher. He was named Breakout Action Performer of the Year in Hollywood and became the youngest recipient of the ICON Award in Los Angeles in 2016. Known for his dynamic approach to performance, Taz brings together acting, directing, martial arts, gymnastics, body movement, and Hong Kong-style action to help performers build confidence and camera-ready skills. His background as a former pro athlete gives him a strong understanding of discipline, pressure, teamwork, timing, and physical storytelling. As an Action Lab instructor, Taz focuses on helping actors and creators turn adrenaline into intention, using movement, mindset, and screen technique to create action scenes that feel grounded, exciting, and believable.

Eccaia Sampson
Eccaia Sampson
Instructor

Eccaia is a 12x World Champion Martial Artist, actor, stunt performer, and action choreographer from Canada. A 3rd Dan black belt and lifelong movement artist, she has spent over 11 years training in martial arts, tricking, weapons, and screen action, with a focus on nunchaku, 3-section staff, katana, and extreme martial arts. Her passion for action performance has taken her from local and international competition stages to the world of film, music videos, and stunt training. She was the only Canadian selected to train with Jackie Chan's Stunt Team in Beijing at the first-ever JC Stunt Camp for Youth, and has performed double nunchucks with Barenaked Ladies and starred in KT Tunstall's "Human Being" music video. As an instructor, Eccaia brings intensity, discipline, and authenticity to every class. Her goal is to help performers tell stronger stories through movement, emotion, choreography, and confidence.
